Semi-Truck Company Responsible for Georgia Southern Nursing Students Crash and Deaths has Hundreds of Safety Violations

The truck driver believed to be responsible for Wednesday’s fatal crash involving seven GSU nursing students worked for a company that had racked up hundreds of safety violations over the course of 2 years.  The driver, John Wayne Johnson, worked for Total Transportation based in Mississippi.

Investigations revealed that over the course of just two years, Total Transportation and it’s drivers have been cited 266 times for unsafe driving including speeding, following too closely, driving while using a cell phone, and for not following traffic devices.  Records also show that close to 600 maintenance violations have been records again Total Transportation’s fleet.
