On Monday, the troubled auto maker General Motors assed 3.2 million additional vehicles to their extensive recall list. The issue at hand in the latest round of recalls is a faulty key design (vs. a faulty ignition) that could cause the affected vehicles to lose power, interfering with the car’s power steering and even the airbags.
The car models involved in this latest recall are as follows:
- 2005 to 2009 Buick Lacrosse
- 2006 to 2014 Chevrolet Impala
- 2000 to 2005 Cadillac Deville
- 2004 to 2011 Cadillac DTS
- 2006 to 2011 Buick Lucerne
- 2004 to 2005 Buick Regal LS and GS
- 2006 to 2011 Chevrolet Monte Carlo
In more bad news for General Motors, CEO Mary Barra, is facing additional questioning by the House of Representatives related to the company’s failure to address recall issues and safety concerns immediately.
The total number of recalls that have been issued by General Motors this year is 44, a growing list that affects up to 17.73 million vehicles in the United States.
