- Make sure children can see/walk freely in their costumes
- Attach reflective tape to bags and costumes
- Parents should accompany young children and set a reasonable curfew for older kids
- Avoid dark houses and streets, stick to well-lit areas
- Teach your child how to dial 911 in case of an emergency
- Trick or treat in groups
- Use caution near lit candles, jack-o-lanterns, and luminaries
- Keep pets in a quiet room away from loud noises and commotion (doorbells, costumes, etc. can be frightening)
